Privacy Policy

I promise – day by day · Effective 4 October 2026

This app, I promise – day by day, collects no data about you. It has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs. Nothing you do in the app is sent anywhere, because the app has no networking code at all.

What stays on your device

Everything the app knows lives in its own storage on your iPhone and nowhere else:

• The promises you write, the day each one started, and your best streak for each.
• Any voice recording you choose to attach to a promise.
• Two small preferences: which page you last looked at, and whether you have declined the notification offer.

None of this is synced to iCloud or to any server, and the developer has no way to see it. Deleting a promise removes it and its recording. Deleting the app removes everything.

The microphone

Recording your promise in your own voice is optional. If you choose to, the app asks for microphone access and records only while the recording control is active.

• The recording is stored on your device alongside the promise it belongs to, and played back only when you ask for it.
• It is never transmitted off your device, and no speech recognition or analysis is performed on it.
• You can remove a recording at any time by editing the promise.

You can revoke microphone access at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Microphone. The app keeps working; it just cannot record a new voice note.

Notifications

If you accept the offer, the app schedules a notification when a promise reaches a milestone such as a week, a month, or a year. These are local notifications, created and delivered entirely on your device. No push service, token, or server is involved. You can turn them off at any time in Settings › Notifications.

Subscriptions

Premium is an auto-renewing subscription sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple handles the transaction end to end: payment details and your Apple Account are never visible to this app or to its developer. The app only ever asks Apple a single yes-or-no question, whether this device currently has an active subscription, and that answer stays on the device.

Apple's handling of purchases is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy. Subscription terms are covered by the standard Apple licence agreement.

Your rights

Regulations such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct, export, and delete personal data held about you, and to object to its sale. There is no such data held by the developer to act on: everything the app stores is on your device, under your control, and none of it is shared or sold to anyone. Deleting the app removes it and everything it contained.

Children

The app collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes on the App Store.
