Tuning
- It isn't hearing my guitar.
- Check that microphone access is granted in Settings › Privacy & Security › Microphone, and that nothing is covering the bottom of the phone. Pluck one string on its own and let it ring.
- The reading jumps between strings.
- Damp the strings you are not tuning. Sympathetic ringing from a neighbouring string can compete with the one you plucked, particularly on the two lowest strings.
- How close is "in tune"?
- The display turns green within five cents of the target pitch — tight enough that chords ring clean up the neck. The reading itself is shown to the cent, so you can see exactly where you are inside that window.
- Which tunings does it support?
- Standard tuning only: E2, A2, D3, G3, B3, E4, referenced to A4 = 440 Hz. Alternate tunings, capo offsets and other instruments are not supported.
- Does it work on an electric guitar?
- Yes. Anything the microphone can hear works — an electric through an amp, or played unplugged close to the phone.
Premium
- What is Premium?
- Premium unlocks automatic string detection, so the tuner follows whichever string you play instead of the one you picked by hand. Tuning itself is free and always will be.
- How do I cancel or manage my subscription?
- On your device, open Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions, or use Manage Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal and leaves access running until the period ends.
- How do I restore a subscription on a new device?
- Open the Premium screen in the app and tap Restore Subscription, signed in with the same Apple Account that bought it.
